Tottenham vs. Everton

It's been a disappointing many weeks for Tottenham Hotspur, as Antonio Conte's platoon continued their inconsistent form with a loss to Middlesbrough to knock them out of the FA Cup. The North London side are fated for another season without flatware, and face an uphill struggle if they are to finish the season with Titleholders League qualification.

Three points at home to Frank Lampard's Everton would be some help towards that thing, and the hosts have reason for sanguinity going into the game. Although Everton are still in the FA Cup, having seen off Boreham Wood in midweek, their league form is still a significant concern. Bar a 3-0 palm at home to Leeds, Everton's recent games have given their suckers little to cheer, with their last three down games seeing them lose at Southampton, Newcastle, and Norwich.

Tottenham lost their last two league games in their own stadium, with a 3-2 defeat against Southampton followed by a 2-0 defeat against Wolves. Antonio Conte has never lost three consecutive league games at home in his career, and he'll be looking to continue that record today. He has also never conceded to an Everton side in five games against the Toffees, which will give him some degree of confidence.

Everton won on their last visit to Tottenham, a 1-0 in September of 2020, courtesy of a Dominic Calvert-Lewin goal, but their record away to the North London outfit is poor, and going by their recent form they will be up against it if they're going to get a result on Monday.

Frank Lampard has a number of injury enterprises to consider when picking his platoon. Yerry Mina will not be available, while Tom Davies' ham injury means he will not feature. Ham injuries have also affected Fabian Delph and Ben Godfrey, and it remains to be seen whether they will make the team.

Everton have a little further sanguinity around Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who scored in their last palm at the Tottenham Stadium, while Vitaliy Mykolenko will need to be assessed after having to leave the pitch in midweek. Demarai Gray was not available in the FA Cup match, with a fever keeping him out, and it's uncertain whether he will be available for Monday's game.

Tottenham's recent form gives the print that they are not firing on all cylinders, but this could be a chance for Conte's platoon to pick up some important demanded confidence against their vulnerable callers.

While the home platoon do not look like blowing down Everton, it's hard to see them failing to score fully. With Son Heung-Min scoring six in his last 11 league games, as well as picking up four assists, he could be the dangerman for Spurs. His longstanding cooperation with Harry Kane always poses a trouble.
